Take the place over as this usually crowded restaurant, music venue, sushi bar, etc. will be void of government employees. Explore its amazing vastness, extensive bar list, and warming food options. If you can find the red room, then grab a single malt and chill out. BTW they have free Wifi.
Be surrounded by flames while chowing down on pizza and beer before you crawl back into your cave, um house or apartment or whatever, and hibernate.
See what I did there with the picture? Masterful. I have yet to venture over to Blue Jacket, but everyone I know who has LOVES it. If I lived near, I’d dig into the pasta carbonara (so indulgent!!!) and pair it with their Lost Weekend IPA.
Unfortunately there’s no footie on, but this small, dark, warm pub will melt your soul with Old Speckled Hen on tap (as well as numerous others), bangers and mash, roasted marrow bones and sticky toffee pud.
Dinner by candlelight, bubble & squeak, and Thatcher’s Green Goblin Cider from Sandford, England….Get. In. My. Belly. Not too mention the chill, laid back atmosphere and communal tables. You’ll be best friends with your bench mate in no time.
